SARAH BOULTER
Sarah Boulter is based in Salford, UK & works with video, print, performance & installation. Her practise explores fabricating collective memory via ceremony, routine, the manipulative weight of evidence & the aspirational appeal of the ultra feminine. Boulter’s practice focuses on strengthening the ties of the UK /European family by building long lasting relationships across Europe, making work with local participation: processions with elderly French ladies, winning village beauty shows, writing love letters, performing essential tourism in Venice & borrowing German sisters. Boulter also works collaboratively and is co-founder of Nightshift International with Elliott Flanagan, creating reassuringly mundane TV via uncomfortable on-screen relationships exploring false intimacy and disappointment, glossed with a soapy sheen. She created music video Sponge Bath specially for our A Modest Show Evening at SOUP Manchester in 2022.
